Our Sister Charity
Our sister charity, Friends of the William Stewart Centre Malawi was formed to raise funds and awareness of our work. It was registered by OSCR – Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator – on 28 May – SCO49329. It has four Trustees, headed by Sarah Black as its Development Manager.
A linked charity in the UK has advantages. It’s meant that gift aid can now be applied to donations; funding applications are easier and, instead of the tortuous route we had to employ for monetary donations, it’s now simply a case of sending to the SCIO’s bank account.
Should you wish to donate, please message us on the contact form as we have been advised by the Bank not to publish details of the account, for security reasons. The SCIO has its own facebook page, on which there is now a shop.
As a result of COVID-19, many more people are shopping online. If you use Amazon, a reminder that by keying in Amazon Smile instead of Amazon (your account is the same) you can choose a charity to support. Our UK charity – Friends of the William Stewart Centre - is registered in the programme; Amazon donate 0.5% of the net purchase price. When you have registered the charity of your choice, next time round Amazon asks if you want to switch over to Smile Amazon if you don’t remember to key Smile in your browser.
All the pennies donated through Smile Amazon quickly mount up so please consider supporting our work in this way. Shop here: https://smile.amazon.co.uk/
